Staff Accountant
Sharp is looking for a motivated Staff Accountant, who is eager to learn and take ownership of assigned areas.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of key balance sheet areas such as cash and prepaid expenses. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and offers opportunities for growth to other key financial statement line item areas and business unit related accounting.
Sharp is best in class, in terms of closing in two business days. This allows us to focus on value-added activities for the remainder of the month, such as account reconciliations, research into reconciling item and more analytical review of balance sheet accounts and related processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all assigned accounts are properly reconciled, documented, approved and are in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for cash accounts.
- Analyze the Prepaid Expense and Other Current Assets accounts. Ensure that all open items are amortized accurately.
- Make recommendations for process improvements where gaps exist.
- Assist in the monthly accounting close procedures including proper period end cut-off and accounting close schedule and timely recording of all supported journal entries.
- Ensure that all J-Sox controls supporting the integrity of the general ledger are in place, functioning and meet tests of design and effectiveness.
- Identify areas of internal control weakness and make appropriate recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of the quarterly consolidated report to the parent company Sharp Corporation. Assist the Consolidation team with the review the reporting packages by other business units. Ensure that the reporting package is accurate and reasonable prior to transmission.
- Assist in the quarterly reviews and year-end external audit. Ensure that all required deliverables are submitted timely and accurately and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist internal audit in their testing over internal controls by providing requested deliverables timely and accurately and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Various assignment, tasks and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
BS degree in Accounting1-3 years of general accounting and financial reporting experience in industry.Strong skills in Microsoft Excel required. Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Word also required.Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Warehouse desired.Strong interpersonal, analytical and leadership skills required.Must have good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly via telephone and / or other collaborative applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams).ABOUT US : Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA)

Compensation for this position
The compensation range for this role is $72,500-$90,000. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
