Core Responsibilities
Pipeline Development : Design, build, and maintain Azure-based data pipelines using
Synapse Analytics and
Azure Data Factory .
ETL / ELT Optimization : Develop and optimize processes to ingest, transform, and validate structured and semi-structured K 12 education data (CSV, JSON, XML) from various sources, including APIs and SFTP.
Data Modeling : Implement and manage data models and views in Azure SQL and Synapse environments.
Performance Tuning : Perform advanced query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning within dedicated and serverless SQL pools.
Collaboration : Partner with reporting teams and vendors to ensure data integrity for federal and state reporting.
DevOps : Utilize
Azure DevOps and Git for version control and CI / CD deployment practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Candidates must possess a
minimum of 5 years of experience in the following :
Cloud Orchestration : Advanced development of pipelines using Azure Data Factory / Synapse (including triggers, integration runtimes, and parameterization).
Data Warehousing : Professional experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (dedicated and serverless SQL pools).
Advanced T-SQL : Expert-level skills in stored procedures, query optimization, and indexing.
Framework Implementation : Hands-on experience with ETL / ELT frameworks, incremental loads, CDC patterns, and error handling.
Version Control : Proficiency in Azure DevOps and Git CI / CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
Student Information Management Systems and K-12 data reporting.
Familiarity with
Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) .
Azure Data Engineer Associate certification.
