Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to work overnight shifts in a long-term care mail order environment. This role focuses on ensuring accurate dispensing and management of prescription medications while providing expert consultation to patients on proper medication use and health monitoring.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accept and dispense prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Monitor patient medication compliance, identifying over-usage or drug-related issues.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and manage pharmacy files effectively.
- Advise patients on medication administration, possible side effects, and answer related inquiries.
- Provide patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory and communicate drug-related problems with healthcare providers.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy interns to optimize patient care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience :
Indiana pharmacist license and PharmD required.Prior experience in long-term care (LTC) pharmacy preferred.Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws and patient counseling.Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.Ability to work overnight shifts with a 7-on, 7-off schedule (9pm 8am).Schedule :
