Asphalt Paving Superintendent

A leading Raleigh construction company is seeking a highly motivated Paving Superintendent to join our growing team. In this key role, you will oversee all aspects of asphalt paving projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities :

• Lead and supervise a paving crew, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, production goals, and quality standards.
• Manage daily paving operations, including scheduling, material procurement, and equipment maintenance.
• Conduct pre-paving inspections, ensuring proper subgrade preparation and adherence to project specifications.
• Oversee the operation of paving equipment, including pavers, rollers, and material transfer vehicles.
• Monitor asphalt quality throughout the paving process, making adjustments as needed.
• Prepare and maintain daily reports, including production records, material usage, and labor hours.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to ensure project goals are met.
• Maintain a safe work environment and conduct regular safety meetings with the crew.

Qualifications :

• Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record of successfully completing paving projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid CDL or ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe (depending on company policy).
