Job Description
This role will be based in Mountain View, San Francisco, or New York. At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
The Messenger's team mission is to empower professionals to nurture connections, exchange knowledge, and explore new opportunities through meaningful private conversations relevant to their professional sphere.
This role will own the end-to-end experience of how members start private conversations, reply to them, and manage those conversations in their inbox. You'll work with cross-functional partners within design, engineering, product marketing, strategic finance, and operations to bring our ideas to life. Plus, partner with teams across consumer & customer lines-of-business to empower new ways to have productive private conversations.
You'll have the opportunity to modernise the messaging experience, from yesterday's email-like heavy outreach to tomorrow's chat-like experience, light-weight and delightful. In addition, you'll help ensure that every inbox is valuable, which encourages valuable member conversations and balances the need for relevant customer outreach. Your work will have a massive impact on helping members nurture existing networks, transition conversations from public to private spaces, and help customers find new opportunities through productive 2-way conversations with members.
Responsibilities
End-to-end experience of consumer messaging, including how someone starts a conversation, how they reply, and how they manage the conversations in their inbox.
Modernise the messaging experience to transition messaging from email towards a chat-like experience.
Ensure every inbox is valuable by building experiences that elevate relevant outreach, managing the ranking AI that drives visibility, and maintaining guardrails to balance member value and customer opportunity.
Bring new ideas to life, partnering with cross-functional teammates within Messenger & across consumer / business lines.
Monitor the health of the messaging product, including conversation funnels, and review A / B tests.
Become a full-stack builder, leveraging AI-tools for research, analysis, product jamming, prototyping, and experimentation.
Basic Qualifications
BS / BA Degree in a technology related field OR equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience in product management or equivalent role.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in product management or equivalent role.
2+ years building consumer experiences (messaging specific experience a plus, not required).
Ability to evolve current experience and launch 0-1 new products.
Managed product that used AI ranking model for suggestion relevance.
Analytical experience launching and reviewing A / B tests, pulling data (SQL experience nice-to-have, can be learned) to transform insights into decisions.

Compensation
LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $151,000 to $246,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and / or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
