Overview
Senior Associate, Financial Crimes at KPMG US within the Advisory Services practice. KPMG Advisory is a fast-growing area focused on helping clients address regulatory requirements, improve operational efficiency, and mitigate financial crime risks. The role involves leading and contributing to complex engagements in AML, sanctions, and fraud-related assessments, with a focus on developing high-quality work products and fostering collaborative client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Assist in leading teams on complex financial crimes advisory engagements, including AML, sanctions, and fraud-related assessments, gap analyses, and remediation efforts.
- Contribute to the execution of client solutions that address regulatory requirements, enhance operational efficiency, and mitigate financial crime risks. Drive the development of high-quality work products and foster trusting, collaborative relationships with client stakeholders.
- Provide input into engagement decisions such as solution offerings to meet client needs, work plans, timelines, budgets, project management, and resource allocation.
- Aid management in identifying business development opportunities, as well as identifying, escalating, and managing engagement risk.
- Maintain awareness of current industry issues, trends, and regulatory requirements; demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development.
Qualifications
Minimum three years of recent experience in financial crimes compliance, AML, sanctions, fraud prevention, or related areas preferred.Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field; Advanced degree (MBA, JD) or certifications such as CAMS or CFE preferred.Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; understanding of money laundering schemes, AML, sanctions, regulatory environment, and emerging trends in financial crimes (including intelligent automation, cryptocurrencies, and digital banking concepts).Background examining, assessing, and / or enhancing aspects of a financial crimes compliance program (e.g., internal audits or compliance testing) preferred.Strong interpersonal, analytical, presentation, and writing skills with the ability to meet team and business needs.Ability to travel as needed; must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.KPMG LLP and its affiliates comply with all local regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
