Schedule 5x8.0 - Days / Evenings with on-call, callback, and holidays as per unit needs. Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts. Job Description The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of patient conditions. This role requires the verification of patient identity and physician orders, effective communication with patients regarding procedures, careful positioning of patients during exams, and ensuring high-quality imaging results. Responsibilities Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders prior to conducting x-ray procedures. Utilize x-ray equipment to capture high-quality radiographic images as per physician instructions. Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address their concerns. Correctly position patients, including assisting those with limited mobility. Ensure safe and proper handling of radiologic equipment to maintain low patient dose. Observe patient status during procedures and interpret necessary information for age-specific care. Produce diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation and ensure proper identification of images. Report any issues with x-ray equipment promptly. Maintain accurate records and ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Completion of a formal training program in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). New York State license or ability to obtain prior to starting. At least 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience, preferably in a Level 1 trauma center. Ability to lift or move patients and to stand for extended periods. Must possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. A compassionate demeanor and ability to work as a cohesive team member.
