Overview : A state government agency in Tallahassee, Florida is seeking an experienced IT Finance Manager to lead financial planning, analysis, and management for its Office of Information Technology. This is a high-impact role for a strategic and detail-oriented finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving fiscal accountability, operational efficiency, and technology alignment.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can independently manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively across departments, and deliver accurate, timely financial insights that support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial management and analysis for the IT organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Develop and maintain financial models, reports, and dashboards that support strategic IT initiatives.
- Analyze IT expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations to senior IT leadership.
- Prepare and review financial statements, variance reports, and budget justifications.
- Oversee deliverables related to vendor payments, contracts, and purchase orders to ensure compliance and fiscal accuracy.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code , and internal policies.
- Establish and refine standard accounting, reconciliation, and reporting practices within IT.
- Develop and document business processes, user guides, and self-service financial resources.
- Support automation initiatives, feedback systems, and continuous improvement programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial operations and project transparency.
- Lead or contribute to special projects as assigned, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.5-7 years of financial management experience in complex organizations, preferably within IT or government operations.Proven experience managing teams responsible for financial analysis, budgeting, cost planning, and reporting.Hands-on experience with Florida Statewide Financial Management Systems and Florida legislative budget processes .Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects and fostering collaboration between finance, IT, and operational teams.Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial reporting tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial audiences.Preferred Skills
Knowledge of government procurement , budget development , and variance analysis .Expertise in IT cost accounting , capital expenditure planning , and financial forecasting .Experience supporting IT service management , technology lifecycle planning , or cloud cost optimization .Familiarity with ROI analysis , cost-benefit modeling , and risk assessment for IT investments .Proven ability to manage multiple budget cycles and drive continuous improvement across financial processes.Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational excellence.Why Apply
