Job descriptionProvide customer service to clients, staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times. Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus, buildings, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and to observe for any unusual conditions. Monitor entrances and exits to help to prevent unauthorized entry and to maintain order on the property. Document observations, occurrences, and incidents in a timely and accurate manner according to Allied Universal and client site procedures. Assist with access control, visitor management, and enforcement of site-specific policies tailored to an educational setting. Support emergency procedures as required, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, and evacuation processes, coordinating with campus officials and first responders as needed. Interact with students, faculty, staff, and visitors to provide information, directions, and assistance as needed, promoting a positive and secure environment. Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience. Must be at least 21 years of age. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only. Security Officer - Education Patrol
As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence and outstanding communication will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, while your role in customer service and access control plays a key part in maintaining a positive experience for all. What You'll Do :
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
