Leader, Accounting
RH is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Leader, Accounting to support our Dennis & Leen / Formations business in Torrance, CA. This role will guide the accounting function, providing leadership to the Accounting team while partnering closely with the COO. The Leader, Accounting will oversee the preparation of financial statements and core accounting activities, distilling complex data into insights that inform strategic decisions. In this role, you will uphold accuracy and compliance, strengthen internal controls, and foster an environment where the team can deliver with quality, consistency, and excellence.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and alignment in all day-to-day operations
 - Prepare payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
 - Translate financial data into clear insights that support the COO and guide informed decision-making
 - Partner with RH Accounting, Finance, and People teams to ensure compliance, reporting integrity, and payroll / benefits accuracy
 - Strengthen and maintain internal and system controls, resolving discrepancies and safeguarding financial processes and data integrity
 - Steward updates within enterprise systems, ensuring precision in product, pricing, and merchant data that supports business continuity
 - Streamline and refine processes to improve efficiency and remove friction across the team
 - Collaborate cross-functionally to support system enhancements, new implementations, and operational improvements
 - Uphold RH's People-First standards, maintaining confidentiality and serving as a trusted partner to leadership and stakeholders
 
Our Requirements
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with expertise in managerial accounting and team leadership, ideally within a design, retail, or manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and HR / payroll administrationDemonstrated ability to synthesize financial data into clear insights for senior leadershipHighly organized with disciplined attention to detail and a commitment to precisionSkilled at balancing multiple priorities and delivering in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills; able to partner effectively across functions and levelsProficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and accounting / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systemsPhysical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerOccasional standing, walking, and reaching throughout the dayLift and move up to 20 pounds as needed, using proper lifting techniquesRole requires full-time on-site presence in Torrance, CA
