Core daily responsibilities include preparing and proofreading a variety of routine material and correspondence from written material, providing information and assistance in response to inquiries from the public, organizing, maintaining and retrieving information and documents from files and records, managing procedural and routine correspondence and responding to requests for information that is readily available by reference to office records, taking minutes at meetings, coordinating meetings, maintaining simple bookkeeping, financial and statistical records requiring some technical accounting knowledge, performing general office management duties, fulfilling requests for publications or office supplies, operating standard modern office equipment and applications / software, assisting in specially assigned data searches to develop or recover information from non-standard sources, assisting in the training of other administrative staff, and performing other job functions as assigned.
Minimum requirements include one year of general office work. Education or other related experience can substitute. Ability to successfully complete a Pierce County background investigation and polygraph exam is required prior to employment.
