Wyman-Gordon is the premier forging company for the global aerospace and energy markets. Providing a specialized service, Wyman-Gordon manufactures forged components from high grade titanium and nickel based alloys. Such components are used for jet engines, including fan disks, compressor disks, turbine disks, and shafts. We also produce titanium and steel forgings for airframes, including wing beams, wing boxes, door and window frames, as well as nacelle and landing gear components. Wyman-Gordon also extrudes steel products for use in power plants and oil and gas industry applications. Striving to meet today's design challenges, Wyman-Gordon Cleveland utilizes advanced engineering software. Our experienced die designers and forging engineers work together with our customers to determine the best design required to cost-effectively produce a specific part. For longer than 30 years, Wyman-Gordon Cleveland has been manufacturing standard and custom metal closed die forging products for the Aerospace, Commercial, Medical, Transportation and Ordnance industries.

Financial Controller Job Description

We are looking for a results-driven and confident Financial Controller to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. Duties for the Financial Controller will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

Your strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency as a Financial Controller will aid our organization in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support organizational strategy.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills. The noteworthy Financial Controller should streamline our accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysis and reports, train staff on business finance issues, promote regulatory compliance, and drive income generation.

Financial Controller Responsibilities :

Financial Controller Requirements :

  • Master's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.

  • The Controller will be responsible for the overall financial management, SOX compliance & control and for protection of the assets for the group. This individual will maximize return on financial assets, achieving annual growth in revenue and EBIT targets through internal growth and additional market penetration opportunities.

    The range of pay for this role is $115000 to $145000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in the Company's Executive Bonus Plan, paid out at 35% based on the Company's performance in the previous year. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance of the finance group and participate on the senior leadership team.
  • Work closely with the business leaders to achieve financial commitments, proactively identify issues and create recovery plans, drive execution.
  • Actively identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities throughout business.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the operations financial statements, QOR and FQR schedules.
  • Maintain an effective cost accounting system and financial reporting structure.
  • Accountable for balance sheet including provision calculations and reconciliations.
  • Provide leadership to strengthen the internal control environment and maintain SOX section 404 compliance for the business unit. Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
  • Participate in any plant ERP implementation or upgrade.
  • Prepare and review cap ex requests to comply with corporate guidelines for proper financial returns.
  • Oversee operational policy controls and implementation as directed by corporate or division management.
  • Prepare and review annual budget and forecast.
  • Prepare and organize operational review materials including monthly and quarterly reporting and on-site visits.
  • Administer systems and policies to effectively measure financial and operational performance.
  • Report on financial status of business units to Division staff on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Manage the monthly consolidation of financial results for division management prior to submitting the final version to corporate.
  • Manage long and short-range operational planning and performance measurement including, profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgeting, asset utilization, cost standards, capital investing and labor tracking.
  • Prepare specialized reports as needed by operations, division, and corporate management.
  • Experience & Education

  • Prior acquisition experience due diligence, transitions, opening balance sheet, financial integration, etc. Excellent communication, planning and organization skills.
  • B.S. degree required. MBA / CPA preferred.
  • Experience with LIFO Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of IT; ability to recommend changes and upgrades to meet the needs of the business.
  • Required Skills

  • Minimum 10 years financial management experience in progressively responsible positions within, public, multi-site / cultural manufacturing organizations with a demonstrated track record of accountability and achievement
  • Strong skills and knowledge of accounting theory and application of financial principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge and experience managing financial operations in a multi-site environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of financial control and analysis within a complex manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of IT; ability to recommend changes and upgrades to meet the needs of the business. Strong managerial presence that reflects a "hands-on", participative, pro-active operating style.
  • This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
