Description :

Staff must be well versed in all surgical procedures.

The department does not have specialized teams for each service line.

Core staff members have a long tenure in the department.

Commitment to safety is taken very seriously.

Attributes that will help make a candidate successful in this department include flexibility to varied daily surgical schedules.

Teamwork is essential.

Willingness to share experiences and educate others is highly valued.

Common cases include adults, geriatrics, pediatrics, obstetric, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic, GYN, general, and Davinci robotics.

Shifts are scheduled from 6 : 30 AM to 3 : 00 PM, with all staff scheduled 5 days a week.

There is a call requirement of 1 night a week.

Weekend on-call responsibilities occur every 5th or 6th weekend.

Rotating holiday call is also part of the requirements.

Floating responsibilities may include pre / post-op and emergency room for trauma cases.

Scrub colors and dress code will be provided.

Candidates should be aware of the fingernail policy, as artificial nails are prohibited in patient care departments.

Refusal to comply may lead to termination of the contract.

RTO needed upfront is limited to 7 days or fewer per assignment.

Additional RTO will not be approved.

The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.

Charting system used is EPIC.
