Steward, Onboard
Service Excellence. Performance. Integrity. Teamwork. Consistency. Innovation. Do you like to be active and do a little bit of everything? Besides your assigned responsibilities, the Steward is the right-hand to the Onboard Manager and the two of you assist wherever it is necessary to ensure a seamless guest experience. You're not just on one train car, your duties take you the length of the entire train, both up and downstairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of maintenance tasks and reporting.
- Observes mechanical operations and provides troubleshooting assistance
- Cleans common areas and restrooms.
- Routinely monitors onboard systems and adjusts as necessary.
- Maintain climate controls, generator systems, audio systems, GPS and point of sales equipment.
- Perform inspection rounds with a strict timeline to ensure proper temperatures of freezers and coolers.
- Operate the interior and exterior lifts and assist passengers with special requirements.
- Document and submit daily maintenance issues to senior maintenance staff.
Requirements
Some experience in positions involving maintenance or troubleshooting is preferred.CPR, First Aid and AED certification, if needed company will provide training.Have current or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handlers Card.Must pass a pre-employment background check.Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America / Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).Must be able to lift 50 lbs.Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.Ability to stand / walk / work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.Benefits
