Banquet Cook - Private School | Location : Dallas, TX 75244
Compensation : $18 per hour | Full-Time
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 6 : 00am-2 : 30pm

As a Banquet Cook, you'll prepare and present high-quality meals for school events, faculty gatherings, and student celebrations. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating welcoming experiences that reflect our Jesuit tradition.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook large quantities of food for banquets, receptions, and catered events according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Assist with event setup, food presentation, and service as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in all kitchen and prep areas.
- Follow food safety protocols including proper handling, storage, and labeling.
- Monitor and control food quality, portion sizes, and waste.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen and event staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with inventory, receiving, and storing banquet supplies.
- Flexibility to support other campus culinary operations when banquet schedule permits.
- Ensure safety of food by following safe sanitary handling practices (hot foods hot, cold foods cold).
- Follow cleaning procedures for all cooking equipment and proper food storage practices (cover, label, date).
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1–2 years banquet / high-volume cooking experience; institutional / school food service preferredSkill in large-scale prep, plating, and safe food handling (ServSafe preferred / State Food Handler required)Ability to follow recipes, schedules, and production sheetsFamiliarity with kitchen equipment, knife safety, and foodservice operationsCommitment to cleanliness and safetyCommitment to service in a faith-based academic setting preferredStrong communication and teamwork skills; professional demeanorPhysical ability to stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbsFlexible availability (evenings / weekends / holidays as needed)Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (required)Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (E-Verify used)Physical and Safety
