Senior Piping Designer

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Designer to join our Treatment Practice. This role supports the planning and design for a diverse range of water and wastewater treatment facilities by leading the production of detailed drawings, design packages, coordinating across disciplines, and supporting engineers. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with strong leadership capabilities, passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance project delivery, efficiency, and quality within the AEC industry.

Senior Piping Designer

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development, implementation, and enforcement of BIM / VDC standards, best practices, and workflows across multiple disciplines and projects.
• Develop design drawings for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
• Interpret engineering sketches and specifications to produce construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and / or Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams to integrate designs, resolve conflicts, and execute project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and training to project teams on various BIM software platforms, including Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
• Conduct comprehensive clash detection, coordination, and model quality control reviews to identify and resolve conflicts early in the design process.
• Manage and develop BIM content libraries, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
• Manage drawing sets, file organization, and adherence to firm and client CAD / BIM standards.
• Support the development of site layouts, piping schematics, equipment arrangements, and utility coordination.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate new VDC technologies and methodologies to continuously improve project delivery.
• Mentor junior designers and drafters, providing technical guidance and support.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and as-built documentation.
• Stay current with evolving industry trends, software advancements, and regulatory requirements related to BIM and VDC.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Greenville, South Carolina.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 / yr.
