As a counselor in our Afterschool program, you will be a valued member of a dedicated and talented team of people while helping children with disabilities live their best lives in a year-round after-school / summer program.

What does a Counselor do?
- Provides direct supervision, care, and teaching to children with Developmental Disabilities who have moderate to severe behavioral issues
- Ensures a safe, stimulating, nurturing and therapeutic learning environment
- Provides basic care in all areas of hygiene and toileting, as needed
- Engages children in fun, meaningful activities
- Assists children to manage their behaviors through prevention strategies, implementation of individual behavior plans, de-escalation and crisis-intervention strategies
What are the requirements?
- You have a high school diploma or GED
- You have a minimum of 1 year of professional experience working with children (preferably children with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges)
- You’re a positive, compassionate, and supportive person.
