BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing advanced engineering support to the operations team in the Delaware Basin, focusing on enhancing operating margins through innovative strategies.

This role demands a strong background in project management, coupled with the ability to manipulate and understand large data sets from multiple sources and audit preventive maintenance programs for effectiveness.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field preferred).

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with a significant focus on asset integrity, project management, reliability, and data analytics.
  • Proven track record in auditing preventive maintenance programs for effectiveness and optimizing production operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques to handle large data sets from multiple sources, enhancing artificial lift performance, streamlining facility operations, and predicting equipment failures to reduce downtime.
  • Conduct thorough audits of preventive maintenance (PM) programs to assess their effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Lead field failure analysis with a focus on maintaining asset integrity.
  • Responsible for overseeing project management activities, encompassing the identification of solutions through to leading the execution phase.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of annual production and expense budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and a focus on maintaining high standards of asset integrity and reliability.
  • Lead well reviews, KPI meetings, project updates, and other initiatives to drive business performance and operational excellence, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making.
  • Foster strong relationships with field personnel, asset team members, service companies, landowners, and regulatory agencies to ensure cohesive operations and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, PowerBI, Spotfire) to manage and analyze large data sets from multiple sources.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities, with a strong analytical mindset and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Effective time management skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and work extended hours when necessary to meet project deadlines or address operational emergencies.
