WELDER LEAD

JOB SUMMARY :

Responsible for directing and monitoring operations of the production / metal shop including supervision of staff; equipment maintenance; resolution of problems; and recommendations for improvement to processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Scheduling and supervising shop production
• Work closely with AMs and PMs to assist with confirming Production Orders and Work Orders are correct prior to orders being released to build
• Work closely with Detailers and PMs to ensure design and / or material changes are updated on released orders prior to manufacturing
• Ensuring maintenance of shop equipment
• Resolving work problems and making recommendations for improvement
• Keeping current on new techniques, procedures, materials, in the graphics production field
• Identifying problems and opportunities for improvement / cost savings; recommending and implementing actions to address these
• Overseeing department administration, replenishment of materials, authorization of expenses, timesheets
• Scheduling and delegating assignments to shop personnel
• Communicating job requirements and expected results to staff
• Motivating staff to ensure all deadlines are met
• Implementing and ensuring staff adhere to Health and Safety and Corporate policies
• Operating CNC machine safely and accurately
• Ability to setup and make appropriate adjustments to machines as needed
• Ability to balance between loading and unloading of two machines at once
• Learn basic CNC machine programming
• Reading shop drawings and use measuring equipment to confirm dimensions and accuracy
• Paperwork and documentation to assure proper procedure specifications are met
• Maintaining a healthy and clean work environment for themselves and others
• Follow company production procedures and policies
• Ability / Willingness to cross-train in other areas of the shop
• Other duties as assigned.
