Team Description :

The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team is pivotal in realizing our ambitious AI vision at Capital One. We collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to advance AI science and engineering. We build and deploy proprietary solutions that deliver immense value to millions of clients. Our AI models empower teams across the organization to integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities into their products responsibly and efficiently.

In this role, you will :

Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that enhance our associates' work and improve customer interactions.

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, model evaluation, and observability.

Utilize a wide range of open-source and SaaS AI tech stacks, such as AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, VectorDBs, and PyTorch, among others.

Introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to enhance the scalability, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency of large-scale AI systems.

Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 3 years of experience in AI and ML algorithm development; alternatively, a Master's degree in the same fields with 1 year of relevant experience.

Proficient in programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java for at least 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications :

4 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

Experience in developing and supporting AI services.

Hands-on experience with AI and ML algorithms, including LLM inference, similarity search, and optimization techniques using languages like Python, C++, C#, Java, or Go.

Expertise in optimizing training and inference software to enhance performance metrics like latency, throughput, and cost.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are as follows : Cambridge, MA : $158,600 - $181,000; McLean, VA : $158,600 - $181,000; New York, NY : $173,000 - $197,400; San Francisco, CA : $173,000 - $197,400; San Jose, CA : $173,000 - $197,400. Actual salary will be based on experience. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentives, including cash bonuses and / or long-term incentives.
