Job Objective :

As the receptionist caring coordinator, you will assist in setting the tone of The Salvation Army by greeting all Salvation Army guests with kindness and warmth, ensuring the mission of The Salvation Army is met through day to day life.

What You Will Do :

Business and Property

  • Greet all Salvation Army guests with warmth and empathy and ensure quality care for all TSA guests.
  • Ensure that all TSA guests are equipped with the information they need to receive services from The Salvation Army; provide thorough education and information about TSA services and provide referrals to other non-profits as necessary.
  • Stay current and aware of all Salvation Army programming and be able to direct clients to in house services as needed and / or desires.
  • Answer all SA calls and re-route to appropriate office and providing client resources if need is not provided by TSA.
  • Ensure that admin narthex is neat and orderly.
  • Manage all office mail, including opening, sorting, and directing to appropriate employees.
  • Take staff meeting minutes when needed; manage distribution of minutes of meetings including advisory board, corps council, staff meetings and other committee meeting minutes.
  • Maintain office supply inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Ensure that all staff files are up to date according to TSA policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and assist with special projects or special events assigned by Corps Officer.
  • Other duties as assigned by Corps Officers

Minimum Qualifications : The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and / or abilities required for this position.

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent

Background Checks : Position requires a background check to be completed. Findings will disqualify an individual for this position

Experience : two years of administration experience preferred

Certifications :

  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Must complete Caseworker Certification program with 120 day of employment.

Skills / Abilities :

  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems
  • Kind, empathetic and compassionate
  • Detailed oriented and organized
  • Must complete Caseworker Certification program with 120 day of employment.

Supervisory Responsibility : No supervisory responsibilities

Physical Requirements Include :

  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
  • May require bending, squatting, walking
  • May require standing for extended periods

Travel : No travel required

Working Conditions : Work is performed in an office environment; and may require some weekend and evening work, if necessary.
