Pay Range: Starts at $ per hour, depending on experience
**Due to the this role's responsibility for maintaining spaces dedicated to the privacy of our male members and staff, male candidates will be preferred.**
Position Summary:
Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Property Director, the Building Services Attendant will provide housekeeping and maintenance repair(s) to the YMCA. Create a clean safe welcoming space for members, volunteers, guests, participants and staff.
Essential Functions:

Ensure safe and risk free environment at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants

Clean entire men's locker room facility

Clean and disinfect men's shower / wet areas

Clean and maintain men's sauna and steam room

Mop floors and empty trash
-
Clean and fill all dispensers

Follow all YMCA safety and all OSHA guidelines; adhere to SDS procedures and guidelines

Monitor building for safety concerns, security and guest concerns

Ensure safety in all areas of Center by ensuring all equipment and items used are maintained and repaired in a timely manner; communicate any safety concerns to, and seek help of, supervisor immediately

Perform various other housekeeping/maintenance related tasks indoors and outdoors as directed
Qualifications
Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
An enthusiastic personality with the desire to serve members, volunteers, guests, participants and staff to create a culture of service within our Centers
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative

Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks

Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Minimum 18 years of age

Experience in cleaning and use of cleaning chemicals, including safety procedures (preferred)

Certifications Required Post-Hire:

Before start of 1st shift: New Hire Orientation training

Within 30 days of hire: CPR Pro/ First Aid/ AED

Within six months of hire: Complete course training and Certify in Adult Mental Health First Aid USA from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is usually minimal to moderate.
