Registered Nurse (RN) - ER
This job is located in Columbus, OH
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Emergency Room Nurse to join our team. As an ER Nurse, you will provide urgent and emergent care to patients in the emergency department.
Your role will involve assessing patients, administering treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Experience in oncology and ED / ICC settings is preferred.
Job Details :
- Preferred Experience : 2 years of oncology experience
- Required Experience : ED / ICC experience
- Certifications : BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Skills : Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Patient Ratio : 1 : 4 (one nurse to four patients)
Responsibilities :
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered by the physician.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, providing appropriate interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform IV starts and manage IV therapy.
- Utilize telemetry monitoring to assess cardiac rhythms.
- Provide patient and family education on conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Document all patient information, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements :
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of oncology experience preferred.
- Experience in an emergency department or intensive care unit setting required.
- BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.
- Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to providing high-quality and compassionate patient care.
