RN Recovery / PACU Position Summary

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) using the nursing process of assessment planning implementation and evaluation.
• Meets the physical psychosocial and cultural needs of patients and families.
• Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Exposure : Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present; may involve contact with patients blood body fluids or specimens.
• Physical Requirements : Frequent standing walking lifting / moving patients and repetitive hand / arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards including blood and bodily fluids hazardous medications and latex.
• Reports to the Director of Surgery.
