Job Summary and Mission

This job contributes to Starbucks success by ensuring the stability of enterprise-wide computer operating systems and networks through problem identification and analysis, problem resolution, security administration and third-level support in a continuously-operational production environment. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following

Acts as problem manager for problems identified within computing infrastructure. Responds to complex system problems, takes corrective action, and refers problem to third-level support when required, using established dispatch procedures.

Administers security for the operating systems and networks by enforcing system and data access policies through well-defined procedures and scripts.

Develops and recommends new processes and procedures relevant to the operating systems and networks and ensures proper documentation.

Ensures Enterprise Systems Administration changes to the production environment are made in a timely and high-quality manner. Performs hardware and software installation into the production environment following guidelines from Enterprise Architecture and Technical Services departments.

Maintains and returns operating systems and networks to specification, in a large-scale, heterogeneous, continuously operational production systems environment.

May lead and mentor less experienced team members.
