Engineering Group Manager
Description
Position can sit in Troy, MI or Vandalia, OH
- Plan, Manage, Organize and Control Complex Projects (Resources, Budgets, Schedules,
- Management technical contact to Customers; establish effective relationships with Customers
- Manage program resources and / or functional groups such as Quality, Validation / Test, Design, Application Engineering
- Comply with TS16949 - Design Review Requirements
- Generate Development quotes for re-billable services (ex : Design, Engineering, CAE, Validation)
- Deliver Engineering rebills on-time
- Responsible for leading teams in the design and engineering activities for vehicle interior components and modules
- Provide monthly budget forecast
- Responsible for ensuring Engineering Change Requests meet key performance indicator requirements
- Mentor, coach, develop team members
- Ensure company processes and procedures are abided by (ex : Product Development Process)
- Work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Establish effective communications between customer, internal groups and suppliers
- Responsible for achieving program imperatives (financial, product performance, schedule, PPAP,quality)
- Manage prototype activities
- Support business pursuit activities
- Support cost reduction and warranty reduction initiatives
- Prepare reports and presentations for Customers and internal groups
- Ensure program resource support, as needed, at Inteva and Customer sites for prototype and launch activities
- Position can be filled in Troy, MI or Vandalia, OH
Position Requirements
- Minimum (10) years automotive Interior product engineering experience
- Previous supervisory experience of automotive technical resources
- Highly advanced planning and organizing skills
- Proven leadership style ability to create clear vision and lead and manage team to meet requirements
- Outstanding interpersonal effectiveness building relationships and facilitating goal achievement
- Ability to lead, manage and coordinate multiple complex tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative problem solving skills and self-starting
- Proficient in MS Office Programs including MS Project
- Ability to travel to support plant launches (25% both domestically and internationally)
PREFERRED :
- MS Engineering
- Multiple automotive interior partition product and / or manufacturing engineering experiences of complex modules (ex : IP, Cockpit, Door Pads, etc )
