You will have the chance to interact with and advise customers on your electrical design approach for their products.
Job Responsibilities :
- Develop electrical aspects of equipment designs by studying customer requirements and applying established specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Identify areas of inefficiency in existing products and explore opportunities for improvement or alternative solutions.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks electrical) to transform rough product designs into detailed prints, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
- Provide engineering support to team members, revising designs and drawings as required to address potential conflicts and ensure imely throughput.
- Analyze and incorporate new or improved electronic components into designs, ensuring efficiency and capability optimization.
- Validate, test, and sign off on electrical aspects of machinery prior to shipping, ensuring compliance with customer expectations.
- Program PLCs and VFDs when applicable, ensuring proper operation of lifting equipment.
- Specify system components or direct product modifications by collaborating with vendors' engineers to meet design and performance specifications.
- Develop specifications for purchased parts and utilize Solidworks electrical design to ensure accurate ordering and adherence to design standards.
- Verify compliance with National Electrical Code and UL requirements when necessary.
Requirements :
- Associate's degree in electrical drafting or design, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in an electrical design position.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks electrical, or other automated design software.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, and a basic comfort level with technology.
- Proven customer service orientation toward both internal and external customers.
- Occasional travel up to 10% may be required.
