Start Your Day with Purpose in Plainfield! As a Sorter on our vibrant first shift team, your role is crucial in our recycling operations where we handle electronic products ranging from phones to gaming systems.
Operating from 5 : 00 AM to 1 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime, this position is perfect for those who enjoy a fast-paced environment and have a keen eye for detail.
Your efforts in sorting and organizing materials are foundational to our recycling process, ensuring materials are ready for further dismantling. Activities
- Stand by the moving conveyor to sort various electronic items into designated boxes for the dismantling area.
- Work at a swift pace, handling items quickly and efficiently to keep up with the continuous flow of materials.
- Engage in physical tasks including standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all materials are handled safely and efficiently.
- Contribute to team efforts by achieving daily targets and maintaining high sorting standards.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring physical stamina and agility.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions.
- Must wear safety gear provided by the company, including steel toe shoes.
- Effective communication skills; ability to understand instructions in English is a plus.
- Work in an open warehouse setting characterized by a mild, mechanic shop-like odor.
- Frequent interaction with moving mechanical parts and electronic waste materials.
- Safety equipment such as overalls and safety glasses will be provided, with personal lockers available for belongings.
- Must be able to handle the physical nature of sorting and organizing large volumes of materials.
