About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in ICU

License : Required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have : General ICU experience; neuro or cardiac-specific experience is acceptable

Description :

Unit type : ICU & CCU

Number of beds : 20 beds

Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH

Patient ratios : 1 to 2, may be 1 to 1

EMR system : Cerner

Charge Nurse available : Yes

Nurse Aides available : Yes, one available from 5 : 00 PM to 5 : 30 PM for blood draws, EKGs, and other tech duties

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Holiday Requirement : Will work in with permanent staff rotation, typically required to work one major and one minor holiday

Scrub Color : Navy

Tele / Monitor Technicians : Nurses are required to read strips, no dedicated monitor techs

IV Drips : Yes, including vaso, levophed, norepinephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, propofol, fentanyl, etc.

Ventilators : Yes

Availability of Hospitalist or Intensivist : Yes, on-call after hours

IV Team : No

Respiratory Therapy : Available 24 / 7

Pharmacy : Available 24 / 7

Shift Structure : 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling, not always guaranteed

Floating Requirement : Yes, may need to float to step-down or observation units

Floor Specific Orientation : 3 shifts of orientation

Common Diagnoses / Types of Patients : Neuro surgery procedures including craniotomies, carotids, ventriculostomies, ICP monitoring, open heart, post-catheterization, impellas, balloon pumps

Travel experience preferred

Must validate ICU skills

No CRRT or ECMO experience required

Cancellation Policy : Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per assignment
