Overview
Knownwell is a weight‑inclusive healthcare company offering metabolic health services, primary care, nutrition counseling and health coaching services for anyone of any size. Our hybrid model allows for in‑clinic and virtual care to bring support to patients where and when they need it. Position : Hybrid, full‑time. Schedule : Monday‑Friday with flexible scheduling, 20 clinical hours per week and 20 administrative hours per week. EMR : Athena. On‑Call : Phone call only, rotation every 10 weeks for a week at a time, 24 / 7 / 365. First‑line nurse‑led call service over nights and weekends.
Base pay range
$250,000.00 / yr – $300,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities
Leadership and Administrative Responsibilities (20 hrs / week)
Monitor and evaluate performance by tracking provider access, key performance indicators and collaborating with teammates.Represent the rights of both providers and patients to ensure respect and dignity for all.Support Regional Senior Medical Director in developing, adapting and implementing market‑specific operational procedures and protocols to ensure efficient, effective and safe operations.Provide clinical leadership and support by mentoring and coaching clinical staff, ensuring up‑to‑date medical advancements and practices.Drive clinical initiatives by leading the development and implementation of new clinical programs, policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.Build relationships with physicians and advanced practice clinicians.Support the development of referral relationships with local healthcare providers, including primary care, specialists and health system networks.Participate in educational sessions and presentations to local healthcare professionals about the practice’s services and benefits.Attend networking events, medical conferences and community health fairs to increase visibility and create referral opportunities.Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials and campaigns that highlight the practice’s unique offerings and advantages.Clinical Responsibilities (20 patient‑facing hrs / week)
Practice exceptional medicine within knownwell.See adults 18+ for primary care and metabolic health.See pediatric patients 12+ for metabolic health only if licensed and experienced.Remote patient care using audio and visual technology to complete examinations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment plans.Embodies the knownwell mission and patient inclusivity in how care is delivered.Coordinate with the broader care team to ensure the patient has the support they need.Document billing and remote patient monitoring data.Communicate with patients in a timely manner through the portal for questions and concerns that have been pre‑screened.Provide clinical guidance to advance practice clinicians, medical assistants and nursing teams as assigned.Stay current with licensure and appropriate re‑certifications.Willingness to flex clinical or administrative time based upon patient or organizational needs.Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.American Board of Obesity Medicine certification recommended.Active, unrestricted Illinois license to practice.Minimum five years of in‑person or remote clinical experience as a physician outside of residency or fellowship training.Minimum two years of leadership overseeing clinicians (MD / DO / NP / PA) in an ambulatory setting.Valid DEA with no restrictions and prescribing authority per state practice regulation.BLS certification.Clinical experience in ambulatory care, family or internal medicine; chronic condition and weight management preferred.Willingness to obtain additional licensures if needed based upon business needs.Willingness to supervise advanced practice clinicians as deemed necessary.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications recommended.High emotional intelligence and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Dedication to inclusive, compassionate care and shared decision making with patients.Willingness to try new technologies that are both patient and provider oriented.Authorized to work in the United States; visas not sponsored.EEO Statement
