Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a 34-bed telemetry unit, requiring WA or compact RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and chemotherapy certification.
Responsibilities
Position is on a 34-bed Oncology / Telemetry hospital unitCare for complex patient populations including oncology, post-cath, CHF, MI, sepsis, and high acuity telemetry casesPatient ratios are 1 : 4 on daysAssignment consists of 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per weekEvery other weekend is requiredFloating may be required to other Med / Surg or Tele unitsUses Epic EMR systemAlaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Draeger monitors are utilizedSupport staff include CNAs, unit coordinators, receptionist, phlebotomy, IV / VAT team, hospitalist, and telemetry monitoring techsRole involves providing care to post-cath patients including stent placements and TR band managementMust complete two 12-hour shifts of on-unit orientation depending on contracted shiftsHighly diverse patient population including a significant Spanish-speaking and underserved communityHoliday rotation requires working 1-2 holidays per contractScrub color is flexible; any color is permittedFirst-time travelers considered with required experienceFree onsite parking is availableTeam-oriented, traveler-friendly, and fast-paced work environment focused on patient-centered careSeven days of time off can be approved in advance per contractRequirements
Active WA or compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredONS certification preferredChemotherapy certification requiredAt least 1 year of telemetry experience requiredMinimum of 2 years of RN experience required for first-time travelersProficiency with trach care, chest tubes, TR bands, post-cath care, central line maintenance, Bipap, high-flow oxygen, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and titratable drips (diltiazem, heparin) necessaryBenefits
