Monitor Tech-Telemetry Surveillance (Full-Time, Nights)

Job Summary
Observes cardiac monitors to identify abnormal heart rhythms under the supervision of a registered nurse. Performs duties in a centralized monitoring environment that monitors patients across multiple departments.
Accountabilities
u200B Continually observes cardiac monitors and reports any changes in cardiac rhythm per policy. 50%
Receives report from the previous shift and documents strips per policy. 5%
Responsible for the management and distribution of transmitter boxes. Ensures transmitter boxes are returned to the surveillance center in a timely manner after discontinuation of telemetry monitoring. 10%
Reports problems regarding poor transmission, etc. to the appropriate unit and personnel. u00A0 Reports telemetry system failures to designated personnel and departments. 10%
Completes telemetry summary report per policy guidelines. 5%
Triages incoming phone calls, provides appropriate information in a calm and concise manner and logs phone calls. 10%
Maintains adequate supplies and keeps the monitoring areas and equipment clean and organized. 5%
Participates in training and the continuous development of new staff. Attends educational programs, in-services and meetings as required. 5%
Minimum Qualifications
Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience - No previous experience required
Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Other Required Skills / Experience
After hire, requires attendance of formal arrhythmia training class and successful completion of the u00A0Prisma Health u00A0Arrhythmia exam with a minimum passing score within 2 attempts. u00A0
Successful completion of the arrhythmia exam must be completed within 30 days of hire.
Arrhythmia competencies must be maintained on an annual basis if selected into a monitor tech role. u00A0
