Electrical Design Engineer F / A-18 Lab Support
Location : 100% Onsite | Hazelwood, MO
Clearance : U.S. Citizenship + Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (required before start)
Overview : We are seeking a mid-to-senior level Electrical Design Engineer to join the Flight Simulation Labs team supporting U.S. Navy Operational Training Centers (OTCs) for the F / A-18 program. This hands-on, lab-based role involves the design, integration, and lifecycle management of electrical hardware within simulation environments. In addition to strong technical capabilities, we're seeking someone who can bring a fresh perspective and help navigate and evolve team culture, working effectively alongside highly experienced (and at times, change-resistant) peers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and support electrical systems and COTS component integration for simulation benches (OTCs)
- Execute the full product lifecycle : requirements gathering, design, test procedures, implementation, and maintenance
- Work with PC cards, resistors, transistors, cockpit hardware, and other simulation system components (Note : no circuit-level design)
- Maintain lab hardware inventory and manage spare parts
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (hardware, software, systems)
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with design requirements
- Influence lab operations and team culture to promote collaboration and innovation
About the Team : You will join a team supporting F-15, F-18, and T-7A platforms. This role focuses on the F / A-18 OTC effort for the U.S. Navy. The team includes both employees and contractors, working to modernize its approach to collaboration and engineering workflows.
Basic Qualifications (Required) :
U.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain a Secret Clearance prior to startBachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Chemistry5+ years of relevant work experience (or equivalent : Master's + 3 years or PhD)Preferred Qualifications :
