Position Overview
The Lead Host / Hostess is the first and last impression of the guest experience at Mika. This role requires a poised, polished professional who excels in guest relations, reservation management, and leading the host team. The Lead Host / Hostess ensures seamless service flow at the front door and works closely with management to maximize guest satisfaction and table optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Warmly greet and welcome all guests, ensuring an elevated first impression.
Manage reservations, walk-ins, and guest seating using reservation systems effectively.
Supervise and guide the host team, delegating responsibilities to ensure smooth service.
Collaborate with the management team to monitor dining room flow, anticipate guest needs, and reduce wait times.
Maintain detailed guest notes and VIP preferences to support personalized service.
Handle guest inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism and grace.
Ensure the host stand, menus, and entry area are immaculate and guest-ready at all times.
Train and mentor new hosts / hostesses to uphold Mika’s hospitality standards.
Support special events, private dining, and large party coordination as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a lead host / hostess or supervisory role within fine dining or luxury hospitality.
Strong knowledge of reservation platforms (Resy, OpenTable, or equivalent).
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor, with the ability to remain composed in a high-volume, upscale environment.
Ability to lead a team with confidence, positivity, and attention to detail.
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
