Overview

Seasonal Technician, Audio Visual — The Boca Raton (10 / 13 / 25 to May 2026) supports setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment. This seasonal role reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology. The position runs from September 2025 to May 2026 and offers benefits, overtime, training, and promotional opportunities. At season end, you may be invited to reapply based on business levels and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation : Ensure a flawless event through accurate setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications.
  • Customer Service : Strive to exceed internal and external customer expectations; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication; meet with guests onsite to ensure needs are met and equipment works; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; understand and foster hotel / client relationships.
  • Technical Ability : Understand technical aspects of the job; troubleshoot and solve basic equipment and software issues in a timely, professional manner.
  • Systems Knowledge : Follow company processes and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine setup and strike; interact with staff and vendors; utilize up-selling techniques; assist clients with finalizing invoices; complete order entries in Navigator as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per Encore Technical Skillset Matrix within 180 days.
  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • 1 year of audiovisual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required for team members who may operate Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Work Environment

    Hotel / convention center environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust. May involve high-end AV equipment and electrical components, heights via lifts and ladders, and working at multiple hotel locations. Irregular hours and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply as defined by Encore.

  • Frequently : Color Vision; Depth Perception; Lifting 16–50 lbs; Carrying 16–50 lbs; Pushing / Pulling 16–50 and 51–100 lbs
  • Continuously : Close Vision; Distance Vision; Hearing; Lifting 0–15 lbs; Carrying 0–15 lbs; Pushing / Pulling 0–15 lbs
  • Time allocation : 0–1 hours / day climbing; 2–3 hours / day sitting, stooping, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching; 4–5 hours / day standing, walking, grasping.

    Compensation

    Hourly pay range : $16.60 – $20.33. Compensation varies by location, qualifications, and applicable bonuses or incentives. Benefits available for eligible roles.
