Soliant Education is seeking a passionate Elementary Music Teacher for an hourly contract position in Chicago, IL. As an Elementary Music Teacher, you'll have the exciting opportunity to cultivate students' love for music and foster their creativity through engaging lessons and activities.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum for elementary students.
- Teach music theory, vocal skills, rhythm, and music appreciation.
- Lead rehearsals for school choir or other musical ensembles.
- Plan and organize performances and concerts throughout the school year.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources into music instruction.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment where all students can participate and succeed.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff members to integrate music into interdisciplinary units.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
- Valid Illinois teaching certification with an endorsement in Music Education.
- Previous experience teaching music in an elementary school setting preferred.
- Proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, vocal techniques, and music education pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiasm for teaching music and a commitment to fostering students' musical talents.
