Research Associate, Biology
W2 Contract
Salary Range : $79,000 - $89,500 per year
Location : San Carlos, CA - Onsite Role
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide support in the planning, execution, and analysis of experiments.
- Effectively presents research findings to the Biology team.
- Perform isolation and cryopreservation of mononuclear cells from whole blood or tissue.
- Assist in maintaining, expanding, and archiving cell lines using aseptic techniques.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Perform routine quality control procedures and schedule maintenance and certification of laboratory equipment as needed.
- Maintain the highest quality standards in compliance with safety and environmental precautions.
- Collaborate with Finance and maintain accounting for laboratories, such as purchase order requisition, laboratory budget querying, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with the HR and Safety teams to implement federal, state, and local COVID workplace protocols.
- Managing biohazardous waste and chemical (CO2 and LN) streams, including safety checks and equipment inspection.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field.
- 1-2+ years of practical lab experience in an industrial or academics
- Background in immunology, cell biology, or related discipline.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and PBMC isolation
- Flow cytometry experience is preferred
- Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and safety.
- General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master scientific applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently while effectively interacting and collaborating in a team environment.
