Job Description

Account Manager – Automotive OEM Sales

Location : Camden, NJ – Greater Philadelphia Area

Classification : Full-Time | Exempt | Remote of you are in around Camden NJ

Reports to : Director of Sales

Industry : Automotive / OEM Sales Representation

Compensation : Competitive base salary + commission + bonus + full benefits

Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and strategic Account Manager to join a leading automotive OEM-focused sales organization with over 40 years of proven success in supplier and OEM relationship management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring supplier-based products are well-positioned, approved, and ultimately sold through top-tier automotive OEM customers such as Toyota, Subaru, Honda, GM, and others.

This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, marketing, and quality teams, both internally and externally. You'll play a key role in exceeding sales goals, managing OEM accounts, and cultivating high-impact partnerships.

Key Responsibilities Customer Relationship Management

  • Own and execute the selling strategy and action plan for each supplier within assigned accounts.
  • Develop deep relationships across OEM departments (purchasing, planning, engineering, etc.).
  • Serve as the primary contact for all supplier product and process inquiries.
  • Ensure full understanding of customer-specific systems and approval processes (RFQs, purchasing systems, accessory planning / engineering).
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while maximizing product positioning and sales growth.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build strong internal relationships with each supplier's stakeholders and teams.
  • Maintain in-depth product and process knowledge, including market positioning and competitor intelligence.
  • Act as the key liaison for supplier inquiries and issue resolution related to OEMs.
  • Sales Strategy & Business Development

  • Lead annual forecasting and monthly business reviews with suppliers.
  • Manage Target Marketing Plans and product strategies for upcoming vehicle programs.
  • Utilize best practices including LAMP (Large Account Management Process), Blue Sheets, and structured reporting tools.
  • Regularly update weekly activity plans, forecasts, expenses, and strategic documents.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3–7 years of B2B sales experience in the automotive OEM industry.
  • Experience selling to Subaru highly preferred; exposure to BMW, JLR, or Volvo is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of engineered products used in automotive applications.
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Work Environment & Travel

  • Hybrid work schedule (minimum 3 days in office).
  • Occasional travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, events, and social engagements.
  • Must be able to lift and transport samples or materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Company equipment provided : laptop, cell phone, and printer.
  • Flexibility to work occasional extended hours as needed.
