Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Open Heart (CVOR) for a top Healthcare client.
This highly specialized role provides expert perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures in the operating room. The CVOR RN is responsible for meticulous surgical preparation, intraoperative monitoring, and technical assistance during complex open-heart cases, ensuring patient safety and contributing directly to positive surgical outcomes within the acute care environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care, specializing in complex open-heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures.
- Prepare the operating room suite, ensuring all necessary sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready and functioning correctly.
- Serve as a scrub and / or circulating nurse, providing direct technical assistance to surgeons and the surgical team during procedures.
- Monitor the patient's physiological status throughout the operation, promptly communicating changes to the anesthesiologist and surgeon.
- Ensure strict adherence to all established surgical safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all intraoperative care, interventions, and procedural events.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure a smooth, efficient, and safe surgical flow.
Requirements
Education
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required (implied by licensure).Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of recent Open Heart (CVOR) RN experience in an Acute Care environment is REQUIRED.Certifications / Licenses
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) is required .Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) is required .Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) is required .Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification is preferred.Skills
