Responsible for maintaining and interpreting code documents, institutional standards and requirements of Authorities’ Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to serve department needs.
Serves as department representative for review of technical standards and policies. Applies engineering principles, building code and fire code in designing building mechanical systems (chilled water, steam, potable water, HVAC, system controls, medical gases, sprinkler, piping and plumbing) electrical systems (normal and emergency power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, nurse call, signaling and communications systems) for new construction, remodeling and maintenance of existing systems.
Provides technical support to Contractors and Designers. Provides direction to, and reviews plans for, outside A / E Consultants in order to maintain Mayo Standards.
