Join our dynamic Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SICU / Neuro ICU), where we provide specialized care to critically ill adult patients. Our 30-bed unit is designed with a balanced patient population, focusing on neuro and surgical cases (50 / 50).
Your role will involve caring for patients facing life-threatening conditions related to surgical procedures, traumatic injuries, strokes, multi-organ failure, and more. You will be integral in delivering comprehensive care that includes :
- Monitoring vital signs and laboratory values
- Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Performing extensive physical assessments
- Participating in critical procedures such as arterial line placements and central line insertions
As a Clinical Nurse, you will :
Implement physician orders, administer medications, and document all treatments in accordance with health regulations.Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.Assess patient needs and respond to their care requirements.Deliver primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.Collaborate with your nursing team to develop and execute comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.Qualifications :
Graduated from a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree).Current NYS Registered Nurse license.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.Knowledge of quality improvement principles and ability to implement them in patient care.We appreciate your interest in becoming a part of Albany Medical Center!
