Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

A well-established and reputable commercial general contractor in the Madison, WI area is seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of complex commercial construction projects across industrial, healthcare, education, corporate, and institutional sectors .

Key Responsibilities :

Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily coordination and project execution.

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.

Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.

Support subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and cost tracking.

Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

Collaborate with field teams to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners.

Participate in project meetings, progress updates, and closeout documentation.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture , or related field.

1–5 years of experience in commercial construction (internships included).

Strong understanding of construction methods, drawings, and materials.

Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite .

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused professional.
