The primary responsibility of an Oncology Nurse Navigator lies in efficiently facilitating patients' navigation throughout the healthcare system. They support patients from initial referral through diagnosis and treatment plan development, maintaining ongoing communication and accelerating access to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. A team-based approach and collaboration are essential elements, providing clinical insights to all members of the team.

Key responsibilities include delivering disease-specific education, facilitating referral navigation, disseminating knowledge regarding available treatment options, connecting patients with pertinent resources, offering continuous support to both patients and their families, and addressing barriers to care. The nurse navigator works closely with patients, families, physicians, and clinical teams to provide comprehensive care.

Required Qualifications :

• Associate Degree - Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Texas Registered Nurse License
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association Certification
• National certification in area of practice within one year of hire date
• Five or more years of experience as a registered nurse
