About Externi

Externi is an AI-powered SaaS platform transforming how allied health schools, clinics, and hospitals manage clinical placements and workforce pipelines. We streamline experiential learning by automating onboarding, compliance, scheduling, and documentation, while helping healthcare organizations build stronger, more diverse teams.

We’re looking for a Tech Sales Specialist to drive growth, build relationships, and help us scale nationally.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Tech Sales Specialist at Externi, you’ll work directly with universities, allied health programs, clinics, and hospitals to :

  • Develop Client Relationships : Build trust with decision-makers, understand their needs, and position Externi as the go-to solution for externship clinical placement and workforce management.
  • Utilize Solution-Selling Skills : Engage with schools and healthcare organizations, qualify opportunities, and deliver tailored solutions that demonstrate clear ROI.
  • Own the Sales Cycle : Manage everything from prospecting and pitching to RFI / RFP responses, negotiations, and closing deals.
  • Guide Clients Through Pilots : Lead structured pilots and phased rollouts to prove value and drive adoption.
  • Build Business Cases : Present compelling ROI to stakeholders ranging from C-Suite executives to program directors.
  • Drive Growth : Acquire new clients while expanding existing accounts.
  • Collaborate Across Teams : Work with the founders, product, and customer success teams to refine our sales strategy and improve client outcomes.
  • Capture Feedback : Share client insights to shape product and sales strategy.

What Success Looks Like

  • New revenue growth : acquiring net-new schools, clinics, and hospital clients.
  • Process ownership : building clear, strategic, and repeatable sales motions.
  • Client impact : helping partners scale placements and workforce pipelines with measurable ROI.
  • What We’re Looking For

  • 3–8 years of experience in B2B SaaS Sales in EdTech or higher education
  • Experience selling early-stage or innovative tech through pilot-led sales.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills , with the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels.
  • Experience with solution / value-based selling and handling complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot).
  • Highly consultative, resourceful, and outcome-focused mindset.
  • Location

  • NYC preferred for in-person collaboration.
