About the role
Baltic Born is looking for a dynamic and highly driven Buyer to join our Merchandising & Purchasing team. As a key contributor to our product strategy, you will lead category buying initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and ensure our assortments reflect the Baltic Born aesthetic : elevated, modern, and curated for women who want to feel confident every day.
In this fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, you will take ownership of your categories from concept to delivery, balancing trend awareness, data insights, and operational precision. You'll collaborate closely with Planning, Creative, Marketing, and Operations to build assortments that support revenue targets and deliver a standout customer experience.
What you'll do
- Own the buying strategy and product lifecycle for assigned categories within women's fashion.
- Identify emerging trends, customer insights, and category opportunities to drive a compelling and competitive assortment.
- Lead vendor negotiations on pricing, terms, lead times, MOQ, exclusives, and delivery expectations.
- Source new vendors and cultivate strong relationships with existing partners to support quality, cost, and innovation goals.
- Review, fit, and evaluate product samples with a critical eye to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with Baltic Born brand standards.
- Develop and issue accurate purchase orders; proactively manage changes, delays, or discrepancies.
- Partner with Planning to analyze historical sales, weeks of supply, margins, and demand forecasts to guide buying decisions.
- Monitor in-season performance and react quicklythrough markdowns, reorders, or assortment shifts to maximize sell through and margin.
- Collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams to provide launch details, product positioning, and key storytelling elements.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail across all product data, vendor communication, and internal documentation.
- Uphold a leadership mindset driving projects forward, raising standards, mentoring Junior Buyers / Assistants, and anticipating business needs.
- Continuously evaluate category performance, competitor activity, and market shifts to advance long-term strategy.
Qualifications
3–5+ years of buying or merchandising experience, ideally within women's fashion or apparel.Proven track record of managing vendors, negotiating terms, and driving strong supplier performance.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment comfortable making quick, informed decisions.Deep understanding of women's fashion trends, fabrics, fits, and customer preferences.Highly analytical with strong business judgment; able to translate data into actionable strategies.Exceptional attention to detail with product data, POs, pricing, sizing, or timelines.Confident communicator with polished, professional supplier-facing skills.Strong leadership attitude, proactive, solution-oriented, and able to take ownership of results.Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel / Sheets, Shopify and merchandising or inventory systems.Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field preferred.THIS IS AN IN OFFICE ROLE - LEHI, UTPIcf94a6124847-30511-39123543
