Position Overview

Orchestrate, automate, document, standardize and execute data center implementation and sustainment. Manage engineers in the production of a distributed Army data center. Assist in the design of distributed global services, network design and end user access in both the virtual and physical space. Collect, process, and present, network, systematic, performance, and other information and metrics to show automation improvements or degradations over time. Work as part of a fast moving highly diverse team across multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Physically install and configure complex hardware and software components for DoD data centers. Lead a multi-faceted technical team for the production and fielding of the systems, and manage the scheduling, orchestration and validation while providing regular status to the customer.
• Ability to perform many duties involving distributed services design and implementation (ex : DNS, LDAP, CA), complex, network design and implementation (ex : Micro-segmentation of tenant space within an SDN / Physical environment using VPN, Vlan, VXLan, NSX, etc), install and configure ESXi hosts and vCenter across multiple data centers.
• Must be able to author and maintain scripts in a variety of languages.
• Work products must be configuration managed.
• Analyzes real world problems and implements solutions according to corporate guidelines and procedures, and industry best practices.
• Assures system stability, accessibility, and proper configuration of assigned technical systems and components.
• Monitor, maintain, install, and support networked virtual and physical machines, software applications, and peripheral equipment in a large scale environment.
• Provides professional-level IT, virtual environment, and network support functions, and assists software developers, integration, and test engineers
• Must be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment and able to work with / manage a range of engineers holding a diverse set of skills at differing levels of experience.
• Be sensitive and flexible to the needs and requirements of the customer.
