Accounting Technician II Salary $42,280.75 - $53,957.13 Annually Location City Hall Job Type Full-Time Department Finance Opening Date 11 / 04 / 2025 Closing Date 11 / 17 / 2025 11 : 59 PM Pacific FLSA Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit GBU Overview Under general supervision, performs point-of-capture data entry related to cash receipts and accounts payable transactions; prepares, processes and verifies bookkeeping entries affecting general and subsidiary ledgers; performs customer service functions with the public and / or accounts payable vendors both in person and over the phone; performs other related duties as required. Primary Responsibilities The Accounting Technician II is the journey level class in the Accounting Technician series and is responsible for a full range of financial record keeping transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing, collection and taxation. Incumbents may be assigned a variety of accounting related responsibilities and are expected to perform more detailed non-professional accounting duties. This classification is distinguished from the next lower level classification of Accounting Technician I by the performance of the full range of duties working with minimal supervision and performing the more complex assignments in all areas. Minimum Qualifications At least two (2) years full time experience working with cash and receipts in a customer service oriented environment or the performance of related work; and A High School Diploma or equivalent; and Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver's license. Examination scores determine standing on Civil Service eligibility lists. The City Manager, upon recommendation of the department head, will make the final selection and appointment from the established eligibility list.
