Position Overview :

We are seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide in-home rehabilitation services to older adults in Newport News and surrounding areas. This role allows you to work directly with patients in their private residences or independent living facilities, focusing on restoring independence and improving quality of life through personalized care.

  • Qualifications :
  • Education :
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or Bachelor's with 5+ years of experience)

  • International degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
  • Licensure :
  • Valid OT license (or eligibility)

  • Driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience : Prior home health or geriatric experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Expertise in ADLs, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic interventions.

  • Falls risk management and cognitive rehabilitation.
  • Soft Skills :
  • Strong communication and patient education abilities.

  • Excellent time management and problem-solving.
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct in-home evaluations and develop customized treatment plans.
  • Provide interventions to improve :
  • Activities of daily living (ADLs)

  • Cognitive and motor skills.
  • Home safety and community reintegration.
  • Train patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment.
  • Supervise OT assistants and students per state regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
