Bicycle Rental Clerk
Reports to : General Manager
Classification : Seasonal, part-time, non-exempt
Summary
The Bicycle Rental Clerk is responsible for properly sizing and renting adult and children's bicycles, as well as assisting with bicycle maintenance and repair, equipment and accessory sales and other activities.
The rental staff is responsible for ensuring that all of our various bicycles are kept 100% safe and operational at all times and that customers receive excellent service in accordance with all company guidelines.
Essential Functions
- Serves customers in a friendly, courteous manner and sets a good example for visitors and fellow employees.
- Represents the company in a professional manner; maintains a well-groomed appearance, wearing the company uniform at all times.
- Completes bicycle rental transactions with guests, including explaining rates, rules, waivers, returns, etc.
- Identifies bicycle repairs needed.
- Inspects bicycles for damage and processes for repair.
- Ensures bicycles are in good working order, including tire pressure, cleanliness, etc.
- Performs administrative functions related to rentals, returns, recordings, etc.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possesses good communications skills, a courteous demeanor, and a helpful attitude.
- Able to work weekends and holidays, early mornings, evenings and holidays.
- Possesses a genuine concern for guests' experience and enjoys frequent interaction with the public.
- Able to work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry and position objects weighing up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
