Maintenance Worker
Osceola County is offering a full-time position for a Maintenance Worker in Kissimmee, FL. The salary for this position is $16.44 hourly. The position is within the Asset Management department.
The purpose of the position is to perform general building maintenance work in the assigned functional area. Employees are responsible for accomplishing a daily routine of general and preventive facilities and infrastructure maintenance and repair tasks to provide employees and the general public with environmentally safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient public facilities.
The essential job functions include performing a variety of building maintenance tasks, electronic data entry and completion of maintenance logs, operating light equipment and machinery, utilizing hand and power tools, and performing general maintenance and facilities inspections related to life safety and accreditations.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of general working knowledge of building / facilities maintenance and skilled trades, and a valid Florida driver's license.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include the ability to work in high-security buildings, adhere to prescribed routines and practices, utilize materials, methods, and equipment used in general maintenance work, work independently, perform duties with a professional and cooperative work ethic, work at heights in excess of 12 feet, work in extreme temperatures, withstand exposure to various chemicals, interpret instructions, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and understand and document written and oral instructions.
